Ear Trumpet Labs Celebrate Year End Achievements
Successful New Product Launches, Five-Year Anniversary, 100% Growth in Sales, and A-List Artist Endorsements
PORTLAND, OR – While 2016 may go down as a year of infamy for many, boutique microphone company, Ear Trumpet Labs (ETL), is celebrating a spectacular year of growth, successful new product launches, a 100% growth in sales, and an ever-expanding artist network. Based in Portland, OR Ear Trumpet Labs pride themselves on building microphones that are visually stunning with exceptional sound quality, with a small team handcrafting each one.
Over the course of the year Ear Trumpet Labs introduced two new microphones to their already stellar product line. Josephine, released in May of 2016, is a medium-large diaphragm condenser microphone ideal for live vocal and ensemble use, with ETL’s signature vintage styling. Elvis Costello began using Josephine on his 2016 Detour tour, notably for group performances with opener and sister duo, Larkin Poe. ETL also unveiled Nadine in October 2016, their first-ever microphone made exclusively for upright bass. There is currently a waitlist to order, and top tier bassists such as Alan Bartram (Del McCoury Band), Barry Bales (Earls of Leicester), and Daniel Kimbro (Jerry Douglas Band) are all early admirers.
From musicals to national television, Ear Trumpet Labs experienced major exposure in 2016. The critically acclaimed musical, Hadestown, utilized ETL’s Evelyn and Edwina models as major set pieces during their sold out run at the New York Theatre Workshop. Notable ETL enthusiast Andra Day selected her Edwina for a memorable performance of her hit “Rise Up” on America’s Got Talent. Add in the Infamous String Dusters selecting Edwina and Myrtle for their performance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
In just 5 short years ETL continues to make their mark in the competitive MI industry with their distinctive microphones. Founder, Philip Graham hopes to maintain their growth and shoot for new goals in 2017, “We have been extremely excited and honored by the response to our microphones and our business so far. We look forward to reaching out in the coming year to lots of new artists in all genres of acoustic music. We are very proud of the reception Nadine has received from the acoustic bass community, and really look forward to growth there. We hope to get to even more festivals and events this year to meet artists and engineers face to face. The workshop is humming, and we love that every mic we ship is making someone sound better to their audience!"
Happy Holidays and a Joyous New Year from Ear Trumpet Labs!
