Songwriters Hall of Fame Member Steve Dorff Receives 17th BMI Film & TV Music Award

NASHVILLE, TN – Songwriters Hall of Fame member Steve Dorff was honored with his 17th BMI Film and TV Music Award for the Murphy Brown series at the 35th Annual BMI Film, TV, & Visual Media Awards in Los Angeles. Dorff is photographed with Executive VP of Creative & Licensing Mike Steinberg, VP of Film/TV Creative Doreen Ringer Ross, and BMI President and CEO Mike O'Neill at the awards show.
Dorff has written for numerous TV series and feature films such as Growing Pains, Murder She Wrote, Columbo, Reba, Spenser: For Hire, Just the Ten of Us, The Singing Bee, Every Which Way But Loose, Pure Country, Bronco Billy, Rocky IV, Tin Cup, and Honkytonk Man. His writing credits include iconic hits with legendary artists such as Barbra Streisand ("Higher Ground"), Celine Dion ("Miracle"), Anne Murray ("I Just Fall in Love Again"), Kenny Rogers ("Through the Years"), George Strait ("I Cross My Heart"), Eddie Rabbitt ("Every Which Way But Loose"), and countless others.

This book is a stargazer, as Dorff recounts a host of often-hilarious behind-the-scenes stories that feature the many famous singers, musicians, producers, and lyricists with whom he has collaborated. He lent his voice to the audiobook version released via BMG Books in January 2019. Steve enjoys performing his best-loved songs at venues across the country, songwriting, and producing tracks for artists.
