Wreckless Strangers Release Dance Remix of Hit Single “Sun State”
Friday, October 21, 2022, San Francisco, CA…The Bay Area's premiere Americana-Soul sextet, Wreckless Strangers, are releasing an infectious dance remix of their single "Sun State" today. The “Sun State - Michael Herrick Remix” was produced by California native Michael Herrick. His unique blending of future bass, electro and pop music drew the Wreckless Strangers to his work.
“‘Sun State’ is all about that positive state of mind - with the remix, we wanted to keep that vibe going but with a whole new musical direction. We’ve never come out with a track like this, so when we were introduced to Michael Herrick, it seemed like a great opportunity! It was awesome to hear Amber’s funky soulful voice atop a tight, fresh and totally new ‘Sun State’!” David Noble (vocals, lead guitar), & Mackenzie Brown, co-writers of “Sun State” on the remix. Herrick adds, “After hearing about the potential remix opportunity for Wreckless Strangers, I dove in headfirst to their catalog to get a feel for their music. I was so excited at the prospect of taking their warm, soulful sound and sprinkling dance and pop elements on top."
The original version of “Sun State” was the debut single from the band’s album, When the Sun and a Blue Star Collide, released earlier this year.

On Saturday, October 22nd, the band will be joining The War on Drugs, Faye Webster and Fruit Bats at the Sound Summit music festival atop Mount Tam in San Francisco!
