SONOR Drums Supports Reopening of Iconic Nashville Venue The Basement East After Horrific Tornado Damage

Mt. Juliet, TN, August 19, 2021 – SONOR Drums, the longtime partner and drum provider of Nashville’s iconic music venue, The Basement East, has supported the reopening of the club with a stunning new California Blue Vintage Series for the re-built stage.

More than a year ago “Music City USA” Nashville, TN was hit by an EF3 level tornado which damaged and destroyed countless homes, businesses, and schools in East Nashville and Mount Juliet neighborhoods. This devastating tragedy occurred with the widespread impact of global COVID-19 pandemic waiting in the wings, causing unprecedented interruption to the joy and inspiration that has emanated from the music community in Nashville for generations.

The Basement East, a beloved Nashville hot spot for live music affectionately referred to as “The Beast” by local music aficionados, was hit particularly hard by the storms. Located directly in the path of the tornado, the Basement East sustained extensive damage, and the business of this treasured destination venue came to an abrupt halt.

Despite the compounded devastation, longtime owner and proprietor Mike Grimes has picked up the pieces to re-build and re-ignite his business. For many years, SONOR has been the house drum kit of choice for the Basement East, providing the rhythmic backbone for the myriad genres of independent music that the venue supports.
