Songwriter David Starr Releases New EP, Produced by John Oates

"The six-song EP showcases Starr's gift for wise and personal folk songs that are powered by his unmistakable baritone." - Aspen Times

NASHVILLE (April 28, 2017)- Colorado musician David Starr has issued a new EP, The Head and Heart, produced by John Oates. The project includes five original songs and a reimagined cover of “California Dreamin’.”

“David Starr has a voice you will never forget,” Oates says. “His music is authentic, his songs are honest, full of emotion and truth. His new EP, The Head and Heart, is a showcase for his classic songwriting style and wonderful guitar playing.”

On Saturday, April 29, Starr will host a sold-out album release party in his hometown of Cedaredge, Colorado, where he owns the thriving guitar store, Starr’s Guitars.

In a video premiere for the title track, Elmore Magazine said, “His vocals shine, supported but not overwhelmed by vocal harmonies, the twang of lap steel and the lush hum of cello.”

The Grand Junction (Colo.) Sentinel stated, “When Starr is not on tour, he can often be found at Starr’s Guitars wearing his signature black fedora and swapping names of favorite guitarists with customers. To Starr, age is a number, and he is far from the only Baby Boom-generation musician impacting today’s music scene one way or another.”

"In a perfect world, I would be playing in a room where everybody's listening," David said. "That's why I like a situation like a house concert or a listening room because I like to tell a story, I like to talk about the inspiration behind the song. I just like connection, and that what I hope to do with this new music."

David Starr will be touring in the UK in May, followed by dates in Colorado and Nashville in June. He is available for interviews.
