Singer/songwriter Jesse Lynn Madera Releases Melodic and Uplifting Single “Revel”

-- Written in the midst of the pandemic, the track offers a stirring admonition to revel in the good around us and to look ahead to better times--

Nashville, TN - July 23, 2021...Genre-defying artist Jesse Lynn Madera delivers another spellbinding song that highlights the singer/songwriter’s 'otherworldly vocals' (American Songwriter) and emotive delivery. “Revel,” which premiered yesterday on Americana Highways, offers heartening lyrics that implore the listener to find the good around them and to celebrate it. The track, with its ambient melody, "has emotional vicissitudes that carry chills down your back with lovely mandolin punctuations" (Americana Highways) and conveys a hopeful anthem for challenging times and celebrates the resilience of the human spirit. Listen to “Revel” here.

“I wrote ‘Revel’ around the holidays in 2020 after my mom recovered from COVID, and while our beloved cousins were suffering through it,” says Jesse. At that time, one of our cousins was in the hospital, intubated for the second or third time. The world felt so dark and uncertain, and when I sat down at the piano I wondered how I could be of service. It’s no coincidence that some of the happiest songs in existence have come out of dire times. I think of ‘Revel’ as a meditation and a prayer. Being on lockdown for so long made me long for good times. I know a lot of people were feeling pessimistic, and we were losing people to the shadows of hopelessness. We all needed a reminder that there are great times ahead. ‘Revel’ was my offering to the cause!”

About Jesse Lynn Madera
Singer-songwriter Jesse Lynn Madera is a multi-faceted artist who does not easily fit inside one box or designation. She seamlessly changes lanes from folk to pop, to country - with the drama of an accomplished virtuoso and the whimsy of an experimentalist. The granddaughter of self-taught, back porch musicians, she’s cultivated ease and playfulness in her approach to songwriting. Nearly constant in that process is the piano - an instrument she met almost at birth - in the form of her grandmother's antique upright. Jesse’s debut record, Fortunes, makes a strong first impression in its genre-defying, masterfully crafted conviction. From its captivating string arrangements by one-man orchestra Stevie Blacke (Pink, Rihanna, Chris Stapleton), to its Cohen-esque lyrics, Fortunes has an otherworldly, mystical feel that creates a craving in the listener. Included in these musical treats are duets with Australian-born, Los Angeles-based musician, Joel Taylor, as well as actor/musician John Hawkes (Winter’s Bone, Deadwood, The Sessions). The album was produced by Jesse along with Paul Redel, mixed by Ryan Hewitt, and mastered by Eric Boulanger. Jesse's live performances have earned her a devoted following in Los Angeles and New York City venues. She is based in Nashville - along with her husband, two sons, and a menagerie of four-legged family members.
