Roger Murrah To Produce New Artist David Lane
October 30, 2013, Nashville, TN...
Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame
member,
, is working with rising country artist David Lane on his debut EP. Murrah and Lane were introduced through mutual acquaintance Pamela Lillig (VP Film & TV Licensing at BMG Chrysalis) and began their relationship as co-writers. Murrah was impressed with Lane's original song ideas and fresh melodies stating, "David Lane's music begins in his heart and ends in the hearts of those who hear him." When the initial writing sessions proved fruitful, Murrah thought they had enough songs to start the demoing process. In the studio Murrah produced the sessions and worked closely with Lane on his vocals.
Lane's manager Art Bourasseau (MuSick Recordings) felt the studio experience was a natural progression and asked if Murrah would consider producing the whole project. On collaborating with Lane, Murrah remarks, "David is a pleasure to work with, which has made the process a no-brainer for me." The pairing came together organically and the two are excited to continue writing and developing their musical relationship. Lane notes, "Working and learning from Roger has been a dream come true. I feel I am not only becoming a better writer and artist, but also a better human being."
Lane, currently based in both Florida and Los Angeles, continues to make frequent trips to Nashville and will be performing on the
at Mercy Lounge TuesdayNov. 19 at 7:00 PM.
About David Lane
Born and raised in southern Georgia, country music was always at the core of Lane's musical upbringing. He began songwriting while still in elementary school and continued to hone his craft and find his voice as an artist. In his early twenties he hit the road up and down the coast of Georgia and Florida building his fan base and winning numerous local talent showcases. Those opportunities gave him the chance to open for artists such as Tracy Byrd and Jared Ashley. In 2012 Lane signed with Los Angeles based independent label MuSick Recordings and teamed up with Art Bourasseau for management. When he's not in LA or touring, Lane writes in Nashville with hit songwriters Roger Murrah, Liz Rose and Jon Henderson and is currently preparing for the release of his EP.
