Robert Earl Keen Joins LR Baggs Presents Series

Keen Debuts Previously Unreleased Music Along with a John Prine Classic

NASHVILLE, TN (MARCH 22, 2019) LR Baggs has released three new videos from Americana legend Robert Earl Keen, including two previously unreleased tracks. Premiered by Rolling Stone, “The Unknown Fighter” and “Silver Spurs and Gold Tequila”,  join an incredible cover of John Prine’s “Hello In There”. Keen was also interviewed by Mike Luckett for an episode of LR Baggs’ Maker’s Mic podcast where Keen talks inspiration behind the new music, his songwriting process, The Stryker Brothers, his love for Tyler Childers, and more.

Accompanied by Kym Warner on mandolin and Bill Whitbeck on bass, LR Baggs recorded Keen live at Soundcheck in Nashville, TN. The session was directed and edited by Mike Luckett, with camera work by Dave Johnson, and audio mixing by David Brubaker. Keen joins an impressive lineup of artists in the LR Baggs Presents series, including Kacey Musgraves, Tyler Childers, John Oates, Sturgill Simpson, and many more.

Singer, songwriter, and entertainer Robert Earl Keen has performed thousands of shows. With 19 records to his name, his work ranges from country to bluegrass to rock. His songs have been recorded by artists including George Strait, Lyle Lovett, Joe Ely, Montgomery Gentry, Dixie Chicks, The Highwaymen, Todd Snider, and Shawn Colvin. In 2012, he was inducted into the Texas Heritage Songwriters Hall of Fame along with his college friend, Lyle Lovett and the late Townes Van Zandt. In March 2015, BMI honored him as the first recipient of the Troubadour Award. Keen’s philanthropic and charity work lead him to be presented with the Distinguished Alumni award from Texas A&M University in the fall of 2018. The Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame inducted Robert Earl Keen into their 2019 class with the receipt of their Spirit of Texas Award. Keen’s signature song is “The Road Goes On Forever.”
