Rick Bacon to Appear on Overhaulin’ This Month The episodes also feature Tonight Show host Jay Leno

Nashville, TN,  May 21, 2013…Automotive restoration expert and TV host Rick Bacon, will be making guest appearances this Spring on the new season of Overhaulin' on the Velocity network. Chip Foose, host ofOverhaulin', invited Rick to participate in upcoming episodes on a project to renovate a 1972 Lotus. Tonight Show host, Jay Leno, also appears in the episodes with Bacon. When finished, the Lotus will live Jay Leno's car collection in Los Angeles.

This isn't the first time Bacon and Foose have collaborated together. In 2009, Chip appeared as a guest on Rick's show MuscleCar TV.  For this project, Foose called Bacon to come out and handle a custom interior for their current project. Although Bacon's real expertise lies in custom bodywork and paint, Rick used sketches done by Foose to scratch-build a complete dash and interior door caps, creating a focal point in the overall design of the car.

"I have a great deal of respect for Chip and am honored that he called me in to help him out on this project. Taking a design that came directly from his head, then forming that design in steel and fiberglass was an awesome experience. Chip is the nicest, most down-to-earth guy you could ever hope to meet.  And he surrounds himself with like-minded people, creating a fantastic working environment. I'm looking forward to collaborating with him on future projects!" adds Bacon.

Overhaulin' airs Tuesdays at 9:00 p.m. E/P on Velocity. Chip Foose, head of Foose Designs and father of the modern hot rod, hosts the show along with co-hosts Chris Jacobs and Jessi Combs. The series goes beyond the garage, exploring engaging human stories and the strong emotional connection between man and machine. The restoration projects feature deserving individuals ranging from returning veterans to those negatively impacted by the tough economy. Each altered auto becomes a life-changing surprise for its unknowing owner.
