Frank Ray Announced As USA Network Real Country Contestant

USA Network Showcase Series Debuts 11/13

NASHVILLE, TN - USA Network has revealed the 21 artists competing in its new music showcase series Real Country, including the triple-threat singer, songwriter, and guitarist Frank Ray. Tune in November 13 at 10/9 CT to watch Ray and 20 other contestants prove that they are, in fact, real country.

Each contestant was hand-selected by the show’s permanent panel of artists – five-time Grammy Award-winning trailblazer Shania Twain, platinum-selling singer-songwriter Jake Owen, and Grammy Award-winning music legend Travis Tritt.

Jake Owen took notice of Frank Ray’s meteoric rise and incredible stage presence and chose him to be part of #TeamJake. Less than a year ago, Frank Ray was serving full-time as a police officer in Las Cruces, NM. After 10 years of service, he embarked on the journey to pursue his music full-time. Since then Ray has toured nationwide in support of his debut EP and opened shows for Keith Urban, Kane Brown, Brett Eldredge, Luke Bryan, Kip Moore, LANCO, Luke Combs, and more. No stranger to TV, Ray performed for an audience of 40,000+ at the nationally televised NCAA Sun Bowl Halftime Show in December 2018.

Ray wrote all the songs on his debut EP, Different Kind of Country, which has spawned two top-ten hits on Texas Country Radio. Earlier this summer, while his single "Drive" jumped to No. 1 on the Texas Country Regional Chart, his music video for single, "Tequila Mockingbird," reached over 100,000 combined views in its first week and was named one of the 10 Best Country Songs of the Week by Rolling Stone.

While Ray’s track record certainly he proves he is real country, he’ll be competing against a wide variety of talented acts from across the nation. In every episode, three artists will compete for $10,000, a performance at Stagecoach – California’s Country Music Festival, and a spot in the grand finale where they will then vie for a chance to win $100,000 and a highly coveted performance at Nashville’s iconic Grand Ole Opry. From Wilshire Studios, the eight-part series has Twain, Nicolle Yaron, Stijn Bakkers and Leslie Garvin set to executive produce.

Find Frank Ray’s music on Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music and follow him on socials on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, or at  www.frankraymusic.com.
