John Oates new single “Stand Strong” to be featured by ESPN
Nashville, TN, March 10, 2012 - Songwriters Hall of Fame Member John Oates' new single "Stand Strong" will be featured in ESPN2's telecast of the NASCAR Nationwide Series race from Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway on Saturday, March 16. "Stand Strong" will be the theme song for the telecast and will be heard in the pre-race NASCAR Countdown program, which airs at 1:30 p.m. ET. The live telecast of the 300-lap race begins at 2 p.m. ET.
"Stand Strong" is the first release from my new GOOD ROAD TO FOLLOW project," adds Oates. "Teddy Morgan and I wrote and produced it in Nashville. I've had a longstanding relationship with the folks at ESPN and have been involved with motor racing for many years. I thought the lyrics and theme of brotherhood and teamwork were perfect for NASCAR, and when I sent this song to my friend Rich Feinberg V.P. of Motorsports, he told me that the images and vibe of "Stand Strong" were perfect for the Bristol race."

The GOOD ROAD TO FOLLOW project is a journey through John's musical life with songs spanning several different genres and styles. Rather than a traditional full album release, Oates will be releasing a new single every month beginning in June. NASCAR Nationwide Series on ESPN All 33 races in the NASCAR Nationwide Series air on ESPN networks. The series, which was founded in 1982, includes veteran drivers as well as up-and-coming stars in competition on a variety of racetracks across the country.
