DAVID STARR TUNES UP FOR ACOUSTIC ALBUM WITH ERIK STUCKY
'STARR & STUCKY' OUT JUNE 14 ON ALL DIGITAL SERVICES
NASHVILLE, TN (June 4, 2024)...Americana artist David Starr announces the release of his latest album, Starr & Stucky, featuring prolific mandolin player Erik Stucky. The dynamic duo has been honing their live show for the better part of seven years, with audiences begging for a stripped-down album just the two of them, which fans will now receive June 14. With Starr’s soulful vocals and crafted guitar parts at the center, and licks galore from Stucky, it is easy to see why.
Starr has been ramping up the release with three previous singles, including “Good As Gone,” “Edge Of The World,” and “Waiting In The Dark.” All of the songs on the project are acoustic versions reimagined from his previous records. “This album has been something Erik and I have wanted to do for a long time,” Starr shares. “We have so much fun in our live show and are proud of how we’ve developed it together; taking it to the studio was a no-brainer. The record is already selling like crazy at shows and I am happy for it to be officially out in the world!”
Each song on Starr & Stucky was recorded in one take at Nashville’s Addiction Sound Studios, with David and Erik next to each other in the main recording room. There’s virtually no edits, what you hear is what you get, which speaks to both of their raw talents. The project is produced by Mark Prentice and David Starr, with mastering and mixing from David Kalmusky.
The final focus track “Rise Up Again” was written with John Oates for Starr’s acclaimed Beauty & Ruin album. Their paths will cross this coming weekend at the Grand Mesa Songwriter Festival in Cedaredge, CO where Oates will headline. A longtime resident, Starr has been integral in the formation of the festival and prioritizing arts in the town - from his beloved guitar store, Starr’s Guitars, to serving on the board at the Grand Mesa Arts & Events Center.
After returning from a three week run in the UK, Starr & Stucky are set to perform across CO, WY, MT, and TX this summer. With the release of Starr & Stucky, audiences across the world will now get the opportunity to experience their dynamic acoustic live performance.
