David Starr Kicks off UK Tour With Latest Single “Waiting In The Dark”
Third Offering From Upcoming Acoustic Album “Starr & Stucky”
Friday, May 3 2024…Americana artist David Starr celebrates the release of his latest single “Waiting In The Dark” from his upcoming acoustic album, Starr & Stucky, out today on all digital platforms. Premiering on Grateful Web, the single kicks off his UK tour with Erik Stucky where he’ll be for the next two weeks with stops in Coatbridge, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Edinburgh, Portree, Aberdeen, Rhossili, and more, with select special dates with James Kirby.
“Waiting In The Dark” is a moody acoustic version of David's original recording of the song from his 2017 EP The Head and Heart. The new track was done in one take at Nashville’s Addiction Sound Studios with just David on acoustic guitar and vocals and Erik Stucky on mandolin. “‘Waiting In The Dark’ was written around 2016 or so,” Starr shares. “I’d been thinking about my years in Aspen in the early 80’s. There were a lot of folks who stayed a little too long at the party and didn't come out on the other end in those days. The song was inspired by one of those individuals and her inability to find a better way to live.”
With Starr & Erik Stucky performing together as a powerhouse duo for the better part of seven years, it is only natural that fans have been begging them for a recorded version of their live show. “Waiting In The Dark” is often the final song in their set, and leads to a big finish with Stucky soloing to his heart's content. Fans can expect the full album out June 14th including previous singles, “Good As Gone” and “Edge Of The World,” in addition to six others.
