Chagall Guevara Reunites for First Single in 30 Years
Resurrection #9 Marks the Return of One of Nashville’s Most Celebrated Rock Bands
NASHVILLE, TN (June 15, 2022) – Chagall Guevara, the beloved band that helped launch the Nashville rock scene into the national spotlight in the 90s, is back with their first album in 30 years. Their debut single, “Resurrection #9,” out now, features the driving beat, searing guitars, and biting lyrics that exemplify the rock perfection that is Chagall Guevara. Members Steve Taylor, Lynn Nichols and Dave Perkins wrote “Resurrection #9”, which is available on all streaming platforms.
“If you want to be worshiped, resurrections are a good way to kick off the campaign,” the band muses. “But lately all the wrong people are making comebacks, with their promo machines putting a new shine on their dirty deeds. Despite the imagery of mass graves, plazas cleared with gas, and undertakers, there’s always hope for rebirth. This song is 'We Shall Overcome' with a bigger word count.”
The original members have reunited with producer Matt Wallace (The Replacements, Faith No More, Maroon 5, Train, O.A.R.) for the full album Halcyon Days out July 1. The band will celebrate their return with a show July 2nd at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium (tickets on sale now) and July 3rd at the Blue Room for two sold-out VIP events over the fourth of July weekend.
“Not since the Clash has a group so effectively turned militant discontent into passionate rock & roll.” Rolling Stone

ABOUT CHAGALL GUEVARA
Chagall Guevara was formed in 1989 by solo artist Steve Taylor, guitarists Dave Perkins and Lynn Nichols, drummer Mike Mead and bassist Wade Jaynes. The band, named after Cuban revolutionary Che Guevara and painter Marc Chagall, has reunited in 2022 for an album and show July 2nd at the legendary Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. Heralded as one of the first major rock groups to come out of “Music City” and find success, they were signed to MCA Records and toured the U.S. and U.K. with bands like Squeeze, The Violent Femmes and Drivin’ and Cryin’. The reunited band has added John Mark Painter (from Fleming and John) to the line up playing bass. Their highly anticipated nine-track Halcyon Days is the result of their wildly successful Kickstarter campaign and will be released July 1, 2022.
