Bruce Sudano Releases Powerful Single for Hope and Healing “Two Bleeding Hearts”
Single Release Comes Weeks Before HBOMax Releases Documentary on Sudano’s Late Wife Donna Summer
New York, NY, April 17, 2023…Singer songwriter Bruce Sudano has released his new single with a companion video, "Two Bleeding Hearts." The song is a duet with Valerie Simpson, one half of the iconic Motown duo Ashford and Simpson. The video showcases Sudano on guitar and Simpson on piano as their voices seamlessly blend together. Simpson confides that the song, written by Sudano, grabbed her on a first listen. “I was happy to add a vocal amen to his sermon. I think it will speak into the lives of a lot of couples with rocky romances trying to hold on.”
Sudano offers his thoughts behind the song saying, “The reality is that we all live with the subtle stresses and pressures of life and sometimes our guard falls down, and there’s an explosion. The question then becomes who will be the one to make the first move toward reconciliation without standing on pride, willing to forgive.”
With poignant lyrics that explore the difficulty of a relationship moving from heartache to hope to repair, "Two Bleeding Hearts" is a powerful acoustic anthem. The song takes listeners on a journey through the ups and downs of a once-thriving relationship that has taken a turn for the worse, and waiting to see who will make the first move to mend the relationship.
In a few weeks, HBOMax will be releasing "Love to Love You, Donna Summer” a documentary about Sudano's late wife, the legendary Donna Summer. The film features Sudano and is co-directed by their daughter Brooklyn Sudano.
The video for “Two Bleeding Hearts” is available now on all platforms as is the audio version of the single.
About Bruce Sudano:
Through his biggest influences, experiences and memories, singer-songwriter Bruce Sudano, shares his stories of love, heartache, struggle and spirituality by way of song. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Bruce often found himself escaping the walls of his home to be with the music outside. At the ripe age of 13 years old, Bruce formed his first band, eventually playing clubs at a very young age. But the bands for Bruce just kept forming and forming. From The Silent Souls, to Doctors We’re Not, to The Fifth Prophecy, and eventually over time, Alive N Kickin and Brooklyn Dreams were born, with chart success to follow.
The combination of forming each band and writing the material they played, really kick started Bruce into a lifelong career and passion he never saw coming. Although Bruce really enjoyed performing in his bands, eventually he made his way as more of a songwriter than performer, writing classic hits for Donna Summer, Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, and Michael & Jermaine Jackson. However, his performance days are not up yet.
Earlier this year, in succession to his 2021 album “Ode to a Nightingale,” Bruce teamed up with hit-maker mixer/producer Ken Lewis (Taylor Swift, Drake, Kanye, BTS) to release his danceable rhythmic anthem “Make The World Go Away.” Following this track, Bruce, again produced by Lewis along with Randy Ray Mitchell, is set to release his next single titled “Two Bleeding Hearts” from his forthcoming new album. A duet with iconic singer/songwriter Valerie Simpson, “Two Bleeding Hearts” is a song about a relationship that seems smooth sailing, until everything changes on the flip of a dime.
