Americana Artist David Starr Goes to the “Edge of The World” With Latest Acoustic Single

Announces Dates for UK Spring Tour May 2 - May 18

NASHVILLE, TN (March 29, 2024)...Americana artist, David Starr, releases the latest single from his upcoming acoustic album Starr & Stucky, out on all digital platforms today. “Edge Of The World” is an intimate version of the song originally on his 2017 EP The Head & Heart. Recorded in one take at Nashville’s Addiction Sound Studios with Starr’s mandolin player, Erik Stucky, today’s release gives listeners a look into his critically acclaimed live show. With emotive vocals and classic folk fingerpicking from Starr, paired with Stucky’s tasteful licks, it’s no wonder to see why audiences have been requesting an album from these two for some time.

Americana storytelling abounds on the track with Starr living up to his classic troubadour style. “‘Edge Of The World’ was originally inspired by a performer I met at a songwriter festival,” Starr shares. “My first impression was that she was kind of damaged and not coping all that well. But her songs told a more nuanced story, and I came to appreciate that she had obviously overcome some difficult stuff. The song is ultimately about resilience and hope. It was one of the very first songs I played for John Oates when we first discussed him producing an album for me."
Give her half a chance…she’ll take you to the edge of the world” - Starr is going to the Edge of the World himself announcing a 13 date run in the UK with Erik Stucky in May. The two will take their flaming acoustic set to Coatbridge, Berwick-upon-Tweed, Nairn, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Portree, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Mold, Carmarthen, Rhossili, Ashwood, and Southport. This is the third time they are heading across the pond, and audiences are eager to welcome them back.

About David Starr

David Starr is a Colorado-based, Americana and blues singer/songwriter with over 10 albums to his credit. The Arkansas native has honed his decades-long career touring internationally and sharing the stage with esteemed artists such as John Oates (Hall & Oates) and John McEuen, as well as opening for acts like America, Karla Bonoff, Survivor, and more. In 2022, he was a showcasing artist at Folk Alliance International, AmericanaFest, and Southwest Regional Folk Alliance. His latest project Better Me, features acoustic-driven songs such as the title track and “Closer To You,” the feisty blues-rock “Poison The Water,” as well as “Any Chance Of Going Home,” showcasing Starr’s masterful storytelling. For his 2020 Touchstones project, Starr covered the music that shaped his own, including "I've Got To Use My Imagination" (Gladys Knight) and "These Days" (Jackson Browne). His critically acclaimed album Beauty & Ruin is a collection of songs inspired by Of What Was, Nothing Is Left, a novel written by Starr’s grandfather in 1972. Produced and arranged by John Oates, it is a southern gothic tale beautifully told through Starr’s own musical lens. His prestige extends beyond the stage, having launched Starr’s Guitars in Little Rock, before relocating to Cedaredge, CO in 2001, where it is now a beloved institution. Starr is also a founding member of the board for the Grand Mesa Arts & Events Center in Cedaredge, an intimate event space aimed at attracting musicians and visual artists to Colorado’s Western Slope.
